My Song
There are things in life we know
And this world it takes it’s toll
The yellow sun and the children run while the laughter lifts our souls
The sweet bells that ring
And the lovely birds that sing
Fill our eyes like golden moons beyond the ebb of the sea
When our lives come to end
And we come to take our stand
I’ll remember you
And the life we knew
While our flowers bloom
When it’s time for me to go
I just want you to know
I still love you
And the eyes that see
Me among the trees
Don’t cry for me my love
For it won’t be long
Till I have you
And a life anew
With my hands I play this tune
Now for you I sing
With these same bells that ring
My love is true
I still fall for you
Just like the autumn leaves

Sunday
Don’t wake me when the sun comes up, just leave me where I lie. I’ll die when the time comes, I’ll rush it when I like. Let the moon rise over my grave, let me listen when the crow sings. Don’t hand me something I can’t reach, I’ll get it when I please. I won’t apologize for leaving, I’ll tell you I’m weary. I won’t apologize for going, I just need to know what way my life is flowing. If I can’t change the tide I’ll know I wasn’t strong enough. Don’t wake me when the sun rises, I’ll all ready be dancing on high.

When you fall and no one’s around, do you make a sound? Does anyone hear you? Does anyone see you? Ask yourself “who cares that I’m here?” Step back and look around before you take that leap that isn’t of faith. Be aware that when you drown no one will be there to save you, chance and it’s all you have. Don’t slow down to reload, don’t step back and think you’ve gained ground. Losing is all you have left so what’s there to fear? Know the people stealing from you will one day know fear, make those who haunt you think twice. One thing is now certain, they hold no sway over you. Take it back, leave nothing behind, true victory is for the defeated.

Fear, the apparition that cloaks me like the cowl of death. Unadorned by beauty’s grace, however, blessed with homely disgrace. Empty trees sway in the breeze while liars hang lifelessly beguiled by the silence of the righteous. Pious and fake, souls dance through fire and flame, light and fame. Seeking everything but truth the spiral of hate fights through. Dam the oppressive nature and embrace the comfort of fate, death be not a coward for his hand ever lingers above all.

Whether or not you read my words is the determining factor in how much I care
If you pick it up and decide to put it down I’ll walk right on by and shake my head while you judge the cover instead of getting to know the name
Grab it and give it a read, something could click and change the way your world works
Let it digest as you think about the meanings and absorb the sequencing
Life passes you by, getting you hype, walking the line that straightens your mind
Reading the future foretold by one lonely soul, seeing it clear, watching it steer you down that road you were once afraid to go
Crack open my volume and skip to the middle, action begins and pain starts to sing
Living my life, enjoying the scene
Backing up to restore the dream
Ears perk up while on the inside you start to scream
Looking through my eyes don’t seem so easy since you made the choice to indulge me
Keep walking the dream, making you fiend for the next chapter, next volume of my life- my work and my soul
One day you’ll get the picture, not everything is pop tarts and cream,
Drop the scene and realize this is only a dream

Apple of my eye, jewel of the nile
Touched by the grace of life yet hidden from the truth of the world
Fallen from the tree of gaea, lost to the touch of humanity
I long for the embrace of your arms, the beat of your heart against mine
Endlessly and tirelessly I search for a way to bring you back
To end this long life of enmity, fruitlessly giving my all
Oh soul of mine end the restless nights and frivolous days of emptiness
Give to me my apple of my eye, my jewel, my love

Welcome The Darkness
Inspired by Vampire Diaries,
Porcelain tears fall from the eyes of innocents
Regret taints the hearts of men
Fearful, children wander streets filled with the pains of many
For too long have young ones suffered the hand of deceit
Driven by hunger and the satisfaction of false triumph, the unkind thrive
Rest not the fruits of the wicked, for much work there is to be done
Go now and spread the seeds of tyranny, live not by laws but of lawlessness
Find the good in humanity and rob it blind of the light it holds
Fear not young one, your time soon comes
Welcome the end, enjoy the silence

Pain darkens the skies with no hope of a future
Dull blades hack apart life, the way we used to know and how we think today
Time marches forward with no remorse, falling to keep up and stumbling to learn
A cloud of ignorance follows the masses like a cancer, without cure, with promise
Purpose eludes the young while greed covers the masses, forever growing shamelessly the hand of death traces on
Cries of regret shower the ground, howls of remorse fall on deaf ears
Promises of better lives and opportunity deface the souls of the tolerant, steady waiting for change to come
Still the mind and confront the truth, the truth of never knowing
Never minding the endless surge of grief, arterial red flows through rivers of deceit
Speak not of lies and turn eyes skyward to the life made of those fallen
Hear not of the falsehoods spread of prophets fake
See not the hands of the filthy but of the clean, the holy
Believe what’s inside, the well of knowledge bestowed from the giver
Take with you the power unseen, the power of the soul

Anguish
Unchecked rage boils over into the sea of violence
Suffer for the ones that lie in my wake, pray for the ones at my feet sleep
Pray not the path of vengeance come near you, beware the stalking view
Benevolent faith protect those from the hammer of war, fallen those who stand at deaths door
Be gone from me the terrified innocence, stand before me the ignorant masses
At my hands bleed the mercy of night, fires in my eyes be thy last sight
Be my shield my undying guide, faith be strong my story once told

Rebuttal
So you sit me here and tell me that I’ll never be anything
You have me here to tell me that because I have nothing to show for being alive that I’m a failure
You’ve brought me here to show the suits and cars and big bank account that I’ll never have according to you
That’s fine, in fact…
I bust my ass to be where I am now
I got here of my own volition
I’m here because I know what it’s like to have nothing
So what’s that mean for you?
That means I don’t give a damn how fancy you look, keep your fake smiles and happy handshakes
Save that mask of trust for the next sucker who comes your way
As of right now and for the tomorrow’s that come I don’t need nor want your offerings or your handouts
So I’ll say goodbye now and I’ll say it again when your falsehoods claim all you have stolen and rip you to the nothing you thought I would be.
…and dinners’ on me
